Establishes student-athlete mental health specialists in school districts and public institutions of higher education.

The bill establishes student-athlete mental health specialists in school districts and public institutions of higher education. It mandates the appointment of specialists who must be State-licensed or State-certified mental health professionals. These specialists are required to meet with student-athletes multiple times during the season for mental health screenings, provide support, and monitor the impact of sports-related injuries on mental health. The bill also creates student-athlete mental health registries to analyze mental health data and develop evidence-based protocols.
