New Jersey S1113 creates a third degree crime for possessing a firearm during a public demonstration intended to cause civil disorder.

New Jersey S1113 amends existing law to establish a third degree crime for knowingly possessing a firearm during a public demonstration for the purpose of causing civil disorder. This crime applies regardless of whether the person possesses a valid permit to carry a firearm or a valid firearms purchaser identification card. Civil disorder is defined as a public disturbance involving acts of violence by groups of two or more persons that create a risk of imminent danger to public health, safety, or welfare, or cause bodily injury, serious bodily injury, or death.
