Introduced Text

Establishes Commission on Insurance Reimbursement to review and approve or deny applications from health insurance carriers seeking to reduce payment.

The Health Care Reimbursement Rate Stabilization Act establishes the Commission on Insurance Reimbursement within the Department of Banking and Insurance. The commission reviews applications from health insurance carriers seeking to reduce payment rates for certain medical services. The commission must consider if the proposed reduction will interfere with access to necessary medical care, adversely affect the stability of the State’s health care system, or negatively impact licensed health care providers or facilities.
