New Jersey S101 removes the limit on the number of plenary retail distribution licenses a person can acquire for certain stores.

New Jersey S101 amends the state's alcohol beverage laws by removing the limit on the number of plenary retail distribution licenses a person can acquire when used in connection with a retail food store or a liquor store where at least 90% of annual sales are alcoholic beverages. Initially, a person can own up to five such licenses, increasing to seven licenses five years after the bill's effective date, and finally to ten licenses ten years after the bill's effective date. The bill also imposes a transfer fee of 10% of the license price for each additional license acquired beyond two.
