New Jersey S1005 prohibits gender-based price discrimination in the state.

New Jersey S1005, known as the "Prohibition Against Gender-Based Pricing Discrimination Act," prohibits businesses from charging different prices for products and services based on gender. This includes products and services marketed to girls and women being priced higher than those for boys and men. The bill requires businesses to display signs and price lists clearly and conspicuously. Violations are considered unlawful practices under the consumer fraud act, with penalties including monetary fines, cease and desist orders, punitive damages, and treble damages.
