Introduced·1/13/26
Introduced Text

Proposed constitutional amendment to convene a convention to reform property taxation and reduce government spending.

This bill proposes a temporary constitutional amendment to establish a State constitutional convention focused on reducing government spending and reforming the property taxation system. The convention would be limited to these issues and could not propose a Statewide equalized school property tax. Delegates would be elected from each legislative district, and the convention would submit its proposals to voters at the next general election. If approved, the amendments and statutory revisions would become part of the New Jersey Constitution and statutes.
