Amends State Constitution to require two-thirds majority vote of Legislature to advance certain legislation during lame duck session.

This bill proposes an amendment to the New Jersey State Constitution, requiring a two-thirds majority vote in both the General Assembly and the Senate to advance certain legislation during a lame duck session. A lame duck session occurs at the end of the second year of a Legislature, beginning on the first day voters can cast ballots for General Assembly members and ending when the new Legislature begins in January. The amendment would apply to passing bills and joint resolutions, as well as reenacting conditionally vetoed bills. Currently, a simple majority is required for these actions.
