This bill proposes a temporary constitutional amendment to the New Jersey Constitution, allowing a State constitutional convention convened to reform the system of property taxation to propose statutory changes. If the amendment is not approved, the convention can only propose constitutional amendments. The amendment will be submitted to voters and, if approved, will become part of the New Jersey Constitution, expiring one year after approval. Statutory changes proposed by the convention will take effect upon voter approval if the amendment is approved before the general election.
