New Jersey A988 prohibits approving authorities from approving construction of large warehouses on lots within 1,000 feet of historic districts. A "large warehouse" is defined as any site, building, room, structure, or facility of at least 100,000 square feet used primarily for the storage of goods. A "historic district" is an area listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey Register of Historic Places, consisting of at least 100 contributing or not-assessed resources.
