New Jersey A975 allows out-of-State individuals to use teaching experience for licensure from the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology and.

New Jersey A975 amends the state's cosmetology and hairstyling licensure law to allow out-of-State individuals to use teaching experience as a substitute for practical experience when applying for a license. This applies to those with a license from another state or country, provided their jurisdiction's criteria are substantially similar. The teaching experience must be from a licensed or approved institution in the other jurisdiction. The New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling will evaluate the effectiveness of this provision through a three-year pilot program.
