New Jersey A958 mandates training for law enforcement on interacting with autonomous vehicles.

New Jersey A958 requires the Attorney General, in consultation with the Commissioner of Transportation, to develop a training course for law enforcement officers on safely interacting with autonomous vehicles in emergency and traffic enforcement situations. The training must be completed by all law enforcement officers before being appointed to permanent status. The Police Training Commission will adopt rules to implement this act. Autonomous vehicles are defined as those equipped with technology capable of operating without human control.
