New Jersey A955 mandates 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers to be certified in emergency medical and fire dispatch.

New Jersey A955 requires 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers to receive standardized training and certification in emergency medical dispatch and emergency fire dispatch through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. This applies to all call takers and dispatchers employed by a public safety answering point, in addition to any other training or certification requirements set by the Office of Emergency Telecommunications Services.
