New Jersey A924 amends laws concerning electronic medical records and the recording of demographic information for minor patients. It prohibits general acute care hospitals and clinical laboratories from collecting or requesting data on patient sexual orientation or gender identity from minors under 18, unless the minor or their parent/guardian voluntarily provides the data. This data, if provided, is to be used solely for medical diagnosis and treatment.
