New Jersey A870, the "Homeowners' Historic Property Reinvestment Act," allows homeowners to claim a credit against gross income tax for certain costs of rehabilitating historic properties. Homeowners can claim a credit equal to 25 percent of the cost of rehabilitation, up to $25,000 per property over ten years. To qualify, the property must meet specific criteria, such as being individually identified or registered, or located in a district composed of properties identified or registered, for protection as significant historic resources.
