The Barnegat Bay Protection Act establishes the Barnegat Bay Protection Fund in the Department of the Treasury to support the preservation and remediation of the Barnegat Bay estuary watershed. The fund would be supported by a portion of the sales tax on lawn fertilizer, fees from special Protect Barnegat Bay license plates, and donations made at the time of boat registration or renewal, beach badge or tag purchase, or other donations.
