Introduced·1/13/26
Introduced Text

New Jersey A673 mandates that school-sanctioned sports be based on biological sex at birth.

New Jersey A673, the "Fairness in Women's Sports Act," requires public and nonpublic schools and institutions of higher education to designate athletic teams based on biological sex. It prohibits female teams from being open to male students. If a student's sex is disputed, they must provide a physician's statement based on reproductive anatomy, testosterone levels, and genetic makeup. Students deprived of athletic opportunities or harmed by violations can sue for injunctive relief, damages, and attorney's fees. Schools or institutions suffering harm from violations can also sue.
