Introduced Text

New Jersey A649 requires municipalities to reimburse qualified private communities for street paving costs.

New Jersey A649 amends existing law to require municipalities to either pave, repave, improve, or reimprove roads and streets within qualified private communities that have been accepted for dedication to public use or meet municipal standards and specifications for dedication. Alternatively, municipalities must provide reimbursement to the private communities for these services. The bill also mandates that municipalities provide services such as snow and ice removal, road lighting, and waste collection within these communities. The act takes effect immediately.
