Allows elderly victims of domestic violence to file restraining orders electronically and attend hearings remotely; establishes elder financial.
The bill amends the "Prevention of Domestic Violence Act of 1991" to allow elderly victims of domestic violence, aged 65 or older with physical disabilities or impaired mobility, to electronically file complaints and attend hearings remotely. It also establishes an elder financial exploitation prevention unit within the Attorney General's Office. This unit will identify best practices for financial institutions, train their staff to prevent elder financial exploitation, and offer public education programs.
