New Jersey bill provides a gross income tax credit for family caregivers of qualifying family members.

The bill provides a gross income tax credit to qualified family caregivers for care and support expenses incurred for qualifying family members. A qualifying family member is defined as a relative who resides with the caregiver and is 62 years of age or older, a veteran, or an individual with a disability. The credit is up to $3,000 per year, or $5,000 if the qualifying family member is a veteran or has a disability. The credit can be claimed in addition to other deductions and credits.
