Provides law enforcement benefits to certain public employees in PERS; prohibits hiring over age 35 for PFRS positions.

This bill provides law enforcement officer benefits to certain public employees enrolled in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). It expands the definition of "law enforcement officer" to include additional titles. Employees in these roles who were enrolled in PERS before the bill's effective date will be enrolled in the law enforcement officer category within 90 days, unless they waive participation. The bill also prohibits the State or counties from appointing individuals over age 35 to positions eligible for enrollment in the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS).
