New Jersey A5250 imposes additional penalties for violations by permit and probationary license holders.

New Jersey A5250 establishes new penalties for holders of examination permits, special learner's permits, or probationary driver's licenses who violate passenger restrictions. For the first and second violations, the holder must pay a $100 fine and complete a six-hour defensive driving course. A third violation allows the chief administrator to suspend the probationary driver's license until the holder is 21 years old or revoke the special learner's permit or examination permit and prohibit the holder from obtaining a probationary driver's license until they are 21.
