This bill prohibits the release of hazardous chemicals or physical agents into the atmosphere for geoengineering purposes. It defines geoengineering as the intentional manipulation of the environment for altering atmospheric or surface conditions. Violators face civil penalties up to $50,000 for repeated offenses. The Department of Environmental Protection must establish a public reporting program for suspected violations and notify federal entities if they engage in prohibited activities within New Jersey.
