Introduced Text

New Jersey A5213 requires age-restricted communities to have automated external defibrillators in indoor and outdoor recreation areas.

New Jersey A5213 mandates that age-restricted developments ensure the availability of automated external defibrillators in at least one indoor and one outdoor recreation area or facility. These defibrillators must be in unlocked locations with appropriate signs. The bill also requires that a staff member or designee is trained in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and the use of defibrillators. Each defibrillator must be tested and maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines, and emergency medical services must be notified about the defibrillator's location and type.
