New Jersey A5083 expands workforce requirements at high-hazard industrial facilities.

New Jersey A5083 amends existing law to expand the requirement for a skilled and trained workforce at certain high-hazard industrial facilities. These facilities include those that generate, store, handle, treat, process, refine, transport, or use hazardous chemicals, hazardous substances, or petroleum products. The bill mandates that contractors and subcontractors use a workforce that meets specific criteria, including being graduates of an approved apprenticeship program or having equivalent on-the-job experience.
