New Jersey A5048 prohibits the sale, manufacture, and distribution of apparel containing intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The ban applies to clothing items for regular wear or formal occasions, outdoor apparel, and outdoor apparel designed for severe wet conditions. The Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law and Public Safety can adopt rules to implement the provisions.
