New Jersey A5038, known as the "Utility Rate Recovery Fairness Act," prohibits electric and gas public utilities from recovering certain costs through customer rates. Specifically, it prevents utilities from recovering costs related to employee salaries for rate proceedings, membership dues, lobbying, and executive travel expenses. The Board of Public Utilities will identify any additional related costs. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
