New Jersey A5013 allows the manufacture, sale, and distribution of frozen desserts containing up to 5% alcohol by volume, such as ice cream, sherbet, and ice milk. These products must be sold in sealed packages displaying specific warnings, including the risk of birth defects from alcohol consumption during pregnancy. The sale of these products to individuals under 21 is prohibited and constitutes a disorderly persons offense. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
