New Jersey A5004 requires the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to verify the lawful immigration status of commercial learner's permit and commercial driver license applicants and current holders using the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program. The bill also mandates a check for outstanding arrest warrants for all current holders. If an applicant is ineligible or found to be in the United States illegally, the chief administrator must deny the application or provide relevant information to the United States Department of Homeland Security.
