New Jersey A5002 removes provisions from the law that authorized offshore wind projects to construct power lines, obtain real property interests, and granted the Board of Public Utilities authority to supersede local government powers. The bill eliminates the ability of offshore wind projects to preempt local government approvals and the BPU's authority to supersede local government powers under certain circumstances.
