New Jersey A499 amends the state's special education laws to ensure that the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team considers the individual transportation needs of students, including medical, behavioral, communication, and adaptive equipment needs. The bill also requires the inclusion of a school district's director of transportation on the IEP team, who must attend all meetings unless excused by the student's parent or guardian or if the student does not receive transportation services as part of their IEP.
