New Jersey A4887 mandates that all televisions in State buildings display closed captioning for programming.

New Jersey A4887 requires every television in State buildings to display closed captioning for all programming for which it is available. This applies to televisions in buildings owned or leased by the State and available for viewing by the public or employees. Closed captioning refers to the visual display of written words on a television screen of the audio portion of video programming. The bill does not apply to televisions manufactured before the effective date that cannot accommodate closed captioning.
