New Jersey A4878 makes it illegal to harass, bother, or interfere with farmers engaged in farming operations to hinder or prevent the lawful farming of agricultural products. This includes crops, livestock, aquacultural products, and more. A first offense is a petty disorderly persons offense, punishable by up to 30 days in jail, a $500 fine, or both. Subsequent offenses are disorderly persons offenses, punishable by up to six months in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both. Violators are also subject to civil penalties of $250 to $500 per offense.
