New Jersey A4688 exempts biomass, solar, and wind energy systems on rooftops, unpreserved farmland, or exception areas from size restrictions on.
New Jersey A4688 amends existing law to exempt biomass, solar, and wind energy systems located on rooftops, unpreserved farmland, or exception areas from certain size restrictions applicable to preserved farmland. Specifically, the bill removes the requirement that these energy systems be limited to the previous year's energy demand plus 10 percent or occupy no more than one percent of the farm's area. This change applies to systems owned by the landowner or to be owned upon the conclusion of an agreement with the installer.
