New Jersey A4669 prohibits businesses from soliciting based on death notices or obituaries within 90 days of publication.

New Jersey A4669 makes it an unlawful practice under the consumer fraud act to solicit business based on the publication of a death notice or obituary of a family member or tenant within 90 days of publication. Violators face penalties including monetary fines, cease and desist orders, punitive damages, treble damages, and costs awarded to the injured party. This act supplements the existing consumer fraud act and takes effect immediately.
