Introduced Text

Revises law to restrict in-State tuition eligibility for undocumented students in New Jersey.

This bill amends existing law to restrict eligibility for in-State tuition rates and certain student financial assistance for undocumented students in New Jersey. Specifically, it eliminates the ability of students without lawful immigration status to qualify for in-State tuition at public institutions of higher education. The bill also removes the eligibility for state student financial aid for these students. The changes apply to students who do not meet the criteria of being a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen under federal law.
