Allows military personnel to be placed on a subsequent eligible list for police officer or firefighter positions if unable to complete employment.

New Jersey A460 allows individuals who passed a civil service examination for police officer or firefighter positions but were unable to complete employment requirements due to military service to have their names placed on a subsequent eligible list. This applies to those who served at least 30 days of continuous active duty in the National Guard or Reserves after September 11, 2001. The bill ensures these individuals meet the maximum age requirement on the date their names are placed on the subsequent list.
