New Jersey A4559 eliminates the 16-hour per 24-hour period coverage limit on private duty nursing services for certain Medicaid enrollees who are 21 years of age or older. The bill allows these individuals to receive up to 24 hours of private duty nursing services in a 24-hour period if the severity of their illness requires such services, as determined by the Commission of Human Services. The Commissioner of Human Services must apply for necessary state plan amendments or waivers to implement the provisions and secure federal financial participation for state Medicaid expenditures.
