Linnette Lebron's Law, named after a Camden resident, modifies the procedures for obtaining a marriage or civil union license when one party is terminally ill. It allows for the 72-hour waiting period to be waived if the terminally ill person is hospitalized, provided their treating physician certifies the terminal illness. The law also allows for the issuance of a license via telephone communication or through an attorney-in-fact, rather than requiring the ill party to appear in person.
