New Jersey A4509 requires electric public utilities to provide industrial portable power stations during power outages lasting six or more hours. These stations, which are large-scale high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries, must be supplied by the end of the sixth hour of the outage. Utilities must provide one station for every 20 square miles affected. The stations must be placed in central, accessible locations, and their locations must be published on the utility's website within an hour of placement.
