Establishes natural gas power plant procurement program in BPU.

The bill establishes a program within the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to incentivize the development of new natural gas power plants in New Jersey. The BPU would issue a request for expressions of interest and information for the construction of new natural gas power plants to generate at least 1,100 megawatts of electric power in the State. Entities seeking to participate in the program would submit an expression of interest and information within 90 days of the request. The BPU would evaluate the proposals and grant provisional qualification status to a natural gas power plant project.
