New Jersey A4453 offers a gross income tax credit, up to $500, for spouses of military servicemembers who incur professional relicensing fees upon relocating to the state. This credit applies to fees for licenses or certifications required by the state for professions the spouse practiced before moving. The credit is available to eligible spouses who relocate due to a permanent change of station order. The Director of the Division of Taxation must issue forms and procedures for taxpayers to verify their eligibility.
