Prohibits local government officers from working for law firms they voted to award contracts to.
This bill amends the "Local Government Ethics Law" to prohibit elected local government officers from accepting employment with a law firm if they voted to award that firm a contract with the local government. The prohibition applies for the duration of the contract and for one year after its termination. Additionally, it prevents local governments from continuing or entering into new contracts with the same law firm for one year if a former elected officer who voted for the contract accepts employment with the firm.
