Establishes crime of selling counterfeit precious metals and enhanced penalties for crimes against senior citizens.

New Jersey A4376 establishes the crime of selling counterfeit precious metals, including gold and silver, and sets enhanced penalties for such crimes if committed against senior citizens. The bill defines a senior citizen as someone 62 years of age or older. If convicted, the defendant faces imprisonment, a fine of up to $15,000, or both. If the victim is a senior citizen, the defendant must serve a mandatory term of imprisonment fixed at, or between, one-third and one-half of the sentence imposed by the court or one year, whichever is greater, during which the defendant would be ineligible.
