New Jersey A435 requires the Department of Health to utilize the Basic Screening Survey to assess the oral health of preschool and school-aged children. The survey, produced by the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, is to be conducted biannually in each county with the assistance of licensed dentists. The data collected must be done with the informed, written consent of a child’s parent or guardian and in compliance with federal and state privacy laws.
