New Jersey A4261 requires the Department of Human Services to develop an enhanced training curriculum for direct support professionals. This curriculum must include training on the prevention of abuse and neglect, first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, medication administration, facility policies and procedures, and specialized training for individuals with disabilities, seizure disorders, and behavioral and mental health needs. The training must be completed by new hires within 90 days of employment and by existing employees within 210 days of the bill's effective date.
