This bill extends the grace period for rental late charges for tenants who receive public assistance payments. The grace period now includes the time before a tenant receives their monthly public assistance payment. For instance, if rent is due on the first of the month but the tenant receives their assistance payment on the 10th, late charges can only be imposed after the fifth business day following the 10th.
