New Jersey A4216 provides an alternative method for notaries public to take their required oath during a declared state of emergency. Under this bill, notaries public can take and subscribe their oath before a member of the New Jersey Legislature for the area covered by the state of emergency. The member of the Legislature must retain and transmit the oath to the county clerk within 30 days of the end of the declared state of emergency. The bill also directs the State Treasurer to provide each member of the Legislature with access to certificates of commission and notice.
