New Jersey A4160 creates a Chief Executive Nurse role within the Department of Health (DOH). The Commissioner of Health will appoint this individual, who must hold a master’s degree in nursing or higher and have significant nursing experience. The Chief Executive Nurse will assist the commissioner on nursing matters, collect nursing data, consult with nurses and health care facilities, and evaluate nursing trends. This act takes effect immediately.
