New Jersey A4154 allows certain fire police units to appoint fire police officers.

New Jersey A4154 amends existing law to allow certain fire police units to appoint fire police officers. These units must be incorporated, have filed appropriate tax forms, insure all members, and have a designated station number. The appointed officers must be of good health and good moral character, and not have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude. They must complete a basic fire police training course and take an oath administered by the municipal clerk or a notary public.
