New Jersey A412 allows for higher classification of domestic violence or child endangerment offenses during emergencies.

New Jersey A412 permits prosecutors to classify acts of domestic violence or child endangerment one degree higher than the underlying offense if they occur during a declared national, state, or county emergency. This classification is at the discretion of the prosecutor. The bill supplements existing laws concerning domestic violence and child endangerment.
